Demo Submission Terms

They are intended to make the submission relationship clear while protecting artist ownership and supporting a fair A&R process.

1. Authority to Submit

By submitting music, the submitting artist or authorized representative confirms that they are authorized to submit the material for evaluation. The submitter confirms that, to the best of their knowledge, the submission and the act of submitting it do not infringe another party's copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other rights.

Where a submission includes samples, collaborations, featured performers, co-writers, third-party recordings, or other controlled material, the submitter remains responsible for obtaining any rights, permissions, licenses, or clearances required for a potential commercial release.

2. Ownership

Submitting music to SUNNYLYFE MUSIC does not transfer ownership, copyright, master rights, publishing rights, or any other intellectual-property rights to SUNNYLYFE MUSIC. Any transfer, license, assignment, royalty arrangement, or commercial exploitation of a submitted work requires a separate agreement between the appropriate parties.

3. No Recording Agreement or Guarantee

A demo submission does not create a recording agreement, publishing agreement, management relationship, booking relationship, representation relationship, partnership, agency relationship, or other commercial commitment. Submission does not guarantee:

SUNNYLYFE MUSIC may decline or discontinue consideration of a submission at its discretion.

4. Human-Created Music and Generative AI

All original submissions must comply with SUNNYLYFE MUSIC's Human-Created Music and Generative AI Policy. The governing rule is: AI-assisted production is permitted. AI-generated original musical content is not.

The submission process requires the submitter to answer: Was any musical, lyrical, or performance content used in this submission generated from a text, image, audio, or other generative-AI prompt? A submission answering Yes is not eligible for release consideration under the current SUNNYLYFE MUSIC policy.

AI-enabled technical production tools used for EQ, compression, mixing, mastering, restoration, analysis, metering, or similar non-generative engineering purposes are permitted and do not by themselves require a Yes answer. If the submitter is uncertain whether a creative process falls within the policy, the use should be disclosed to SUNNYLYFE MUSIC before release approval.

5. Submission Information

SUNNYLYFE MUSIC may request information reasonably necessary to evaluate and manage a submission, including artist and contact name; email address; city and country; track title; private listening/download link; short biography; artist, social, DSP, or website links; release status; information about prior releases; performance/DJ information where voluntarily supplied; representation or booking information where voluntarily supplied; why the artist believes the music is appropriate for SUNNYLYFE MUSIC; and rights and AI-policy declarations.

The submitter is responsible for ensuring that submitted information is accurate and that private links remain accessible for a reasonable review period.

6. Private Links and Review Access

Private music links submitted for A&R evaluation may be accessed by SUNNYLYFE MUSIC personnel and authorized collaborators who reasonably need access for evaluation, administration, technical review, or potential release discussions. Submitting a private link does not authorize SUNNYLYFE MUSIC to publicly distribute, publish, commercially exploit, or publicly share the recording. The submitter should not provide passwords, credentials, or access information unrelated to the submitted music.

7. Review and Communications

SUNNYLYFE MUSIC may use an internal A&R workflow that includes first listen, hold, request-more, second review, active development, signed, declined, and archive stages. SUNNYLYFE MUSIC may send an automated receipt confirmation. A personal response is not guaranteed. Artists should not interpret silence, internal review, or a hold status as acceptance.

The label may retain appropriate A&R history to avoid duplicate processing, maintain relationship context, and consider an artist for legitimate future opportunities, subject to the Data Retention Policy and Privacy Policy.

8. Similarity and Independent Creation

Electronic music may contain common techniques, sounds, structures, themes, titles, moods, rhythms, or ideas. Submission of music does not prevent SUNNYLYFE MUSIC, its artists, or collaborators from receiving, developing, releasing, or working with other material that may contain similarities, provided the submitted recording or protected expression is not used without authorization. Nothing in these terms grants SUNNYLYFE MUSIC ownership of the submitted work.

9. Privacy and Marketing Consent

Personal information associated with a submission is handled according to the SUNNYLYFE MUSIC Privacy Policy and Data Retention Policy. Demo submission consent is separate from newsletter or promotional marketing consent. Submitting a demo does not automatically subscribe the submitter to the SUNNYLYFE MUSIC newsletter or marketing communications. Any newsletter subscription uses a separate, optional consent action.

10. Material Changes Before Release

If a submitted work materially changes after initial A&R approval, SUNNYLYFE MUSIC may require updated rights information and reconfirmation of compliance with the Human-Created Music and Generative AI Policy before final master approval.

11. Withdrawal and Privacy Requests

A submitter may request withdrawal of a demo from active consideration or make a privacy/data request using the contact method published in the Privacy Policy. Withdrawal from active consideration does not necessarily require deletion of every record where limited retention is reasonably necessary for legal, security, compliance, dispute, or recordkeeping purposes, as described in the Data Retention Policy.

12. Changes to These Terms

SUNNYLYFE MUSIC may revise these terms as its operations, technology, submission processes, or legal obligations evolve. The version presented at the time of submission should be recorded where technically practical. Material changes affecting artist rights, submission eligibility, or the generative-AI boundary require governance review before implementation.
